Netherlea School Achieves UNICEF UK Silver: Rights Aware Award
Congratulations to all the pupils and adults of Netherlea School. Who are now officially recognised as a Unicef UK Silver: Rights Aware school.
Netherlea School is delighted to announce that we have been awarded the UNICEF UK Silver: Rights Aware Award, recognising our strong commitment to promoting and embedding children’s rights across all aspects of school life.
This award is part of the UNICEF UK Rights Respecting Schools Award (RRSA) programme, which encourages schools to place the values of respect, dignity, and equality at the heart of their ethos and culture. Achieving Silver status means that children’s rights are not only taught and understood but are actively lived throughout the school community.
At Netherlea School, students learn about the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child (UNCRC) and how these rights apply to their daily lives both in school and beyond. Through lessons, assemblies, and school projects, pupils have developed a strong sense of fairness, respect, and global awareness. They are encouraged to use their voices to make positive contributions to the school and wider community.
Earning the Silver Award reflects the efforts of pupils, staff, and families in working together to create an environment where everyone feels valued and heard.
